While Ukrainians are donating daily for FPV drones, cars, and ammunition for the front, a new scandal has erupted around defense procurement. This is a tender for the supply of food for the Armed Forces of Ukraine for 2026 with an expected cost of over UAH 4.89 billion. This is reported by kp.ua. The winner of the procurement was LLC “Busky Cannery Plant”, which submitted the lowest offer \u2014 UAH 3.498 billion. In return, the company “Flavakor” offered a more expensive price \u2014 UAH 3.522 billion. The difference between the offers is almost UAH 24 million of budget funds. Despite the loss, according to market participants, “Flavakor” is trying to question the results of the tender through judicial mechanisms and information pressure. The market is already calling this an attempt to revise the procurement results in favor of a more expensive offer.<\/p>\n
It’s not just about numbers on paper. For 24 million UAH for the front, it would be possible to purchase hundreds of FPV drones, dozens of pickup trucks or equipment for evacuating wounded soldiers. In wartime, each such amount is of critical importance for the country’s defense capability. At the same time, the winning company is already working in the defense supply market and supplies some of the military units of the Kharkiv region with food. The market notes that the company has the necessary production capacity, logistics and experience in fulfilling large contracts for the army.<\/p>\n
At the same time, open sources link Flavakor to a number of structures that previously appeared in scandals surrounding state food supplies. Among them are the companies Region-Product, Region-Product Plus and Chudovi Stravy, which appeared in lawsuits and criminal proceedings.<\/p>\n
Experts emphasize: during war, the main criterion should be the ability to stably supply the army with food at market prices, and not attempts to win over the results of tenders through the courts.
