The Council of the European Union has decided to allocate the seventh regular payment to Ukraine under the Ukraine Facility program. The amount of the tranche will be almost 2.8 billion euros.<\/p>\n
The EU Council explained that the payment became possible after Ukraine fulfilled 11 of the 20 steps required for the seventh payment. Kyiv also closed some of the previously unfulfilled conditions: one step regarding the fifth payment and two steps regarding the sixth.<\/p>\n
Separately, the EU noted that Ukraine fulfilled a number of obligations ahead of schedule. These are two steps regarding the eighth payment and two steps regarding the ninth. According to the new methodology of the European Commission, Ukraine will receive compensation for such early fulfillment for the first time.<\/p>\n
Payments under the Ukraine Facility are tied to the Ukraine Plan – a plan for reforms, recovery and modernization of Ukraine. It is also related to the country’s preparation for further rapprochement with the European Union.<\/p>\n
The previous, sixth payment under this program amounted to about \u20ac2.3 billion and was allocated in December 2025.<\/p>\n
The Ukraine Facility program started operating on March 1, 2024 and provides over \u20ac50 billion of stable financing for Ukraine for 2024-2027. The funds are directed to support reconstruction, modernization, reforms and investments.<\/p>\n
For Ukraine, this tranche is important as a source of fiscal sustainability during the war. Regular EU payments help finance public spending and at the same time tie assistance to the implementation of reforms in the areas of public finances, the judiciary, the fight against corruption, financial markets, state asset management and the business environment.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
