The Ukrainian telecommunications market may soon be replenished with a new mobile operator. Ukrtelecom is preparing to launch its own brand U Mobile, which will operate in the format of a virtual operator. The company has already started accepting preliminary applications from future subscribers.<\/p>\n
U Mobile will not create its own network of base stations. Instead, the operator will operate under the MVNO model and use the infrastructure of another mobile company. At the same time, the name of the partner on whose network the service will operate has not yet been disclosed.<\/p>\n
The main feature of the new operator will be the combination of mobile communications with home Internet from Ukrtelecom. Users are planned to be offered mobile services together with GPON Internet, and they will be able to pay for them from one bill.<\/p>\n
It is previously known about two mobile tariffs called “Seven”. The first option is designed for users with moderate needs in mobile Internet:<\/p>\n
15 GB of mobile Internet;<\/p>\n
500 minutes for calls within Ukraine;<\/p>\n
15 SMS.<\/p>\n
The second tariff will provide a much larger volume of mobile traffic:<\/p>\n
60 GB of mobile Internet;<\/p>\n
500 minutes for calls within Ukraine;<\/p>\n
15 SMS.<\/p>\n
At the same time, the final cost of the tariffs has not yet been announced. It is only known that U Mobile plans to switch to payment for the calendar month – from the first to the last day, and not for four weeks.<\/p>\n
For new customers, the \u201cEasy Start\u201d option is also provided. After the first payment, the subscriber will be able to use the services until the 1st of the next month without having to pay an additional fee. There is also the opportunity to keep your current number. It will be possible to transfer it to U Mobile using the MNP service. Under the previous conditions, for identification or porting the number, the subscriber can receive a 15% discount. Another 5% can potentially be obtained using a promotional code. Thus, the total discount can reach 20%, if the promotions allow them to be combined.<\/p>\n
So far, Ukrtelecom is collecting applications for connection, so it is too early to talk about a full-fledged launch. The exact launch date, final prices, coverage, and mobile operator partner will be announced later.
