Data from the National Bank shows that during the first four days of the week, the average daily net outflow of foreign currency resulting from corporate buy-sell transactions remained virtually unchanged at $163.1 million, totaling $652.4 million for the period.<\/p>\n<p>In the retail foreign exchange market, the average daily net outflow rose to $45.1 million, up from $40.8 million during the same period the previous week; notably, the volume of cashless foreign currency purchased by the public exceeded sales on every day of the week.<\/p>\n<p>The official hryvnia-to-dollar exchange rate, which began the week at 44.5483 UAH\/$1, weakened to 44.6648 UAH\/$1 by the end of the week.<\/p>\n<p>The weakening of the hryvnia was less pronounced in the cash market: the dollar buying rate rose by 5 kopiykas over the week to 44.48 UAH\/$1, while the selling rate increased by 3 kopiykas to 44.88 UAH\/$1.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Last week, the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) increased its interventions in the interbank market by $36.9 million (or 3.1%) to $1.2318 billion, according to statistics on the regulator&#8217;s website.
