This is stated in the card of the bill No. 11090, Ukrainian News Agency reports.<\/p>\n<p>The law proposes a gradual increase, by 2028, of the specific excise tax rates on cigarettes until they reach the minimum level established by Council Directive 2011\/64\/EU of 21.06.2011.<\/p>\n<p>When the law was adopted by the Rada on December 4, 2024, Yaroslav Zheleznyak, a deputy from the Holos faction, reported that after it came into force, starting in 2025, &#8220;a pack of cigarettes will increase by about UAH 40.&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;<em>Maybe more, since excise duties will be tied to the euro by this law and gradually approach the minimum EU requirements in terms of volume,<\/em>&#8221; he wrote.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>However, as of January 13, the law has not yet been signed, therefore it has not been published and entered into force.<\/p>\n<p>In today&#8217;s post on his Telegram channel, Zheleznyak explained that the failure to sign the law on time &#8220;has already cost the Budget 352.8 million hryvnias since January 1.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President Volodymyr Zelensky has not signed the law on increasing the excise tax on cigarettes for more than a month.
