Budanov believes that the “eOselya” program needs to be scaled up, as it is a guarantee of citizens’ return to Ukraine.

Head of the Presidential Office Kyrylo Budanov stated that the housing issue is critically important for Ukraine today, as it directly affects the return of Ukrainians and security. The head of the Office stated this during the First Affordable Mortgage Forum.

“People will not return to the country “to nowhere”. Own housing for Ukrainians is much more than square meters. It is, first of all, hope and the foundation of personal security,” the head of the Office said.

He noted that the “eHousing” program has already shown results: more than 24 thousand families received housing during the war, which is about 70-80,000 citizens. However, against the background of millions of IDPs and Ukrainians abroad, this is not enough.

“The number of internally displaced persons and Ukrainians who were forced to leave the country is measured in millions. Therefore, even expanding the program to 30,000 or 40,000 housing solutions will not be able to radically change the situation. The program needs to be scaled up, because it is not only helping people, but also an important factor in restoring the economy,” he emphasized.

Meanwhile, People’s Deputy of Ukraine, military serviceman and volunteer doctor Yana Zinkevich said that in February, new rules for the state mortgage program “eOselya” came into force in Ukraine, which significantly complicated access to housing loans. According to officials and program participants, the most problems arise among internally displaced persons and military personnel.
