Ukrainians will begin to receive “zero” subsidies: who will it affect?

Some Ukrainians may receive a decision on the assignment of a housing subsidy, but there will be no actual payments. The Pension Fund explained that in some cases the assistance will automatically be 0 hryvnias. These are situations when the family’s income is sufficient to independently pay for utility services within the established social standards. This was reported by the Pension Fund of Ukraine.

The PFU reminded that the amount of the subsidy is determined individually for each household. The calculation takes into account the total family income and the mandatory payment that people must pay independently. If, after calculations, it turns out that the mandatory payment is equal to or exceeds the cost of utility services within the social standards, the subsidy is assigned in the amount of 0.00 hryvnias. Formally, the right to assistance remains in this case, but there will be no real accrual of funds.

The Pension Fund noted that such a norm is stipulated in paragraph 60 of the Regulation on the procedure for assigning housing subsidies, approved by Cabinet Resolution No. 848.

Ukrainians are advised to carefully check the notification of the assignment of a subsidy, since the decision on assistance itself does not mean automatic payments from the state.
