Producer prices of industrial products in Ukraine in April 2026 increased by 40.2% year-on-year. At the same time, a decrease of 1.2% was recorded compared to March, Banker.ua reports, citing data from the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.
The main factor in the monthly decrease in prices was the energy sector. In particular, services in the field of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply became the most expensive – their cost in April fell by 5.7% compared to the previous month.
Experts note that the April slowdown occurred after a sharp jump in industrial prices at the beginning of the year. Thus, in January, the producer price index increased by 3.5%, and in February the indicator jumped by 22.3% due to problems in energy generation and crisis phenomena in the industry.
Despite the local decrease in April, the overall annual trend remains negative. If during the summer and autumn of 2025, industrial inflation fluctuated within 1.3–9.9%, then since February 2026 the indicator has been stably above the 34% mark.
According to analysts, high production prices may continue to affect the cost of goods and services for end consumers, increasing inflationary pressure in the country’s economy.
