Ukrainians complain that exchangers set dual rates for the dollar depending on the year of its issue. This was reported by the head of the Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy Danylo Getmantsev. According to him, the committee has received numerous appeals from citizens who have become victims of manipulations on the foreign exchange market.
“Scammers have woken up again and are earning additional margin in their pockets from citizens,” said Getmantsev in his Telegram channel.
The head of the committee emphasized that the current situation has two main components:
Abuse of legal exchangers – setting a dual rate depending on the year of issue of banknotes.
The operation of illegal exchange points is an illegal activity that remains unnoticed by law enforcement agencies.
In this regard, the committee appealed to the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) and the National Police with a demand to conduct inspections of exchangers and immediately take measures against violators of the law.
