Electricity tariffs approved in Ukraine from February 1: how much will we pay

Against the backdrop of the difficult situation in the energy sector and constant talk about market prices, Ukrainians are concerned about the cost of utility services. It has become known at what tariffs household consumers will pay for electricity from February 1, 2026. This issue has already been officially announced by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

Price fixed: 4.32 UAH/kW

From February 1, a single fixed tariff of 4.32 UAH per 1 kWh will continue to apply to all household consumers in Ukraine. This price does not depend on the volume of consumption (as it was before with the division into “up to 250 kW” and “after”). Whether you consumed 50 kW or 500 kW – each kilowatt-hour costs 4.32 UAH.

This decision allows you to avoid an additional financial burden on families in the coldest month of the year. The market cost of electricity is much higher, but the state covers the difference through the PSO mechanism (imposition of special obligations).

How to pay 2.16 UAH: night tariff

For owners of dual-zone meters (“day-night”), a 50% discount continues to apply.

Night tariff (from 23:00 to 07:00): 2.16 UAH/kWh.

Day tariff (from 07:00 to 23:00): 4.32 UAH/kWh.

This is the most effective way to save. Shifting the operation of energy-intensive appliances (washing machine, dishwasher, boiler, ecoflow charging) to night time allows you to reduce the payment by 20-30%.

Preferential tariff for heating: pay attention to the limits

For those who use electricity as the main source of heating (and this is officially recorded in the project documentation), a special preferential price is valid in February.

Tariff: 2.64 UAH/kWh.

The limit applies only to the first 2,000 kWh per month. If you exceed the limit (for example, you have consumed 2,001 kWh), then the entire amount of energy consumed will have to be paid at the standard tariff of UAH 4.32. Therefore, owners of electric boilers should carefully monitor the meter in the last days of the month.

What will happen next?

The current tariffs are guaranteed to be valid until the end of the heating season (usually until May 31). Discussions about a possible price revision may only begin closer to the summer, depending on the state of the energy system and the economic situation.
