There are no meetings. About the work of TSK in relation to possible corruption in the construction of fortifications and the purchase of drones. People’s deputy Mykhailo Bondar writes about this, the Fourth Studio informs.
In May of this year, the Verkhovna Rada created a temporary investigative commission regarding the arrangement of fortifications and the purchase of drones, which was supposed to study the circumstances and prepare questions regarding the needs of the Ukrainian military for drones and the formation of a state order for the purchase and production of drones; to analyze the practice of distributing drones to units of the Armed Forces and to study the condition of fortifications and engineering barriers on the contact line.
People’s deputy Mykola Zadorozhny from the “Servant of the People” faction was appointed the head of this TSC. But already in July, this deputy was suspected by anti-corruption authorities of demanding illegal benefits, 14% of the amount of funds allocated for the repair of the water supply in the Okhtyr district of the Sumy region: of which 10% were to be assigned to him personally and 4% to local law enforcement officers, who this was not supposed to hinder the development of allocated funds.
According to the version of the investigation, it is about UAH 3.4 million.
For this he was expelled from the Servant of the People party.
As reported by Yulia Paliychuk, the spokesperson of the Servant of the People faction, Zadorozhny’s membership in the faction will be suspended during the investigation, “and he will also be excluded from the parliamentary TSK, in which he works.” Suspicion of bribery by the head of the TSC, the unwillingness of the servants to ensure the full functioning of the TSC cannot stop the work of the commission, which aims to deal with possible abuses in the construction of fortifications and the purchase of drones. Let me remind you that about 30 criminal cases have already been opened regarding the embezzlement of funds during the construction of fortifications. The amount is approximately 20 billion hryvnias.
The next meeting of the commission was to receive detailed information on each proceeding. After all, we are talking about very large sums of money. But the work of the TSC, at the moment, is simply blocked, meetings do not take place. Already on July 19, Zadorozhny canceled the commission meeting for no reason.
At the meeting of the Verkhovna Rada on 23.07.2024, it was hoped that another candidate would be appointed for the Chairman of the TSK, but when this issue will be considered is unknown
Due to the reluctance of the leadership of the Verkhovna Rada to consider the issue of banning the activities of religious organizations affiliated with the Russian Orthodox Church, people’s deputies from the “EU” and “Voice” factions, other factions and groups, except for the “fifth column”, blocked the podium of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. We demanded to consider the draft law on banning the Moscow Patriarchate, but the meeting was cancelled. The deputies agreed that the next plenary meeting will take place in the week from August 19 to 25. Therefore, the meeting of the TSC on fortifications and drones is unlikely to take place earlier….
At the moment, all possible options to get out of this situation and continue normal work are rejected and blocked by “servants”. In accordance with the legislation, the chairman of the commission could instruct the deputy chairman to carry out the task of organizing the work of the commission, thereby, during the investigation, remove himself from the duties of the chairman, and ensure the impartial and transparent work of the members of the commission, instead of listening and interrogating possible suspects in the embezzlement of budget funds, being under investigation for bribery.
The conclusion is suggested that delaying the work of the TSC is beneficial to the “Servants of the People”, who thus protect the managers of the funds. And the lion’s share is military-civilian administrations – this is the vertical of the president. Perhaps they are afraid of folk wisdom: “The main thing is not to go out on your own before starting an investigation,” Bondar wrote.
