Despite the war in Ukraine, the number of official millionaires is actively growing. However, the number of citizens who declare their income is decreasing. This was reported by the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy, People’s Deputy from the “Servant of the People” Danylo Hetmantsev.
He summed up this year’s declaration campaign. According to him, more than 17 thousand Ukrainians officially became millionaires.
“This is 1.3 thousand more than last year,” the People’s Deputy noted.
In total, the richest people in Ukraine declared 254 billion hryvnias. In total, all citizens declared 474 billion hryvnias of income – 93.5 billion hryvnias more than in 2024. At the same time, Hetmantsev noted that the number of declarants decreased to 363 thousand (by 22%).
“Probably, some simply changed their country of residence and no longer appear in Ukrainian statistics,” the MP suggested.
It is worth noting that at the beginning of 2025, the NACP found violations in declarations worth over 284 million hryvnias. The list includes MPs, heads of regional councils and regional state administrations.
