Currently, the tariff is at the level of 9 thousand hryvnias per MWh. In Ukraine, businesses will pay more for electricity consumption in the evening hours. The changes will come into force on the last day of July 2025. This decision was made by the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Utilities (NKREKP).
It is known that price caps for businesses during the period from 17:00 to 23:00 will be:
15,000 hryvnias per MWh – on the day-ahead market and the intraday market (currently the tariff is at the level of 9,000 hryvnias per MWh);
16,000 hryvnias per MWh – on the balancing market (currently – 10,000 hryvnias per MWh).
It is worth noting that the decision to update electricity tariffs in the National Energy and Power Regulatory Commission was justified by the fact that this will allow receiving electricity from abroad.
In particular, it is said that as of now, imports are not taking place at full capacity due to the increase in electricity prices in the EU. This will minimize the risk of power outages for consumers.
“In July 2025, traders had the opportunity to import electricity only 71% of the evening hours. The rest of the time, import was impossible,” emphasized People’s Deputy Viktoriya Hryb.
As Glavred reported, the director of energy programs at the Razumkov Center, Volodymyr Omelchenko, said that in July 2025, household consumers in Ukraine will pay bills for electricity use at a rate of 4.32 hryvnia per kWh. But Ukraine is obliged to bring utility prices to European levels.
It is also known that in June, the actual gas sales price in Ukraine increased by 11.9%. Fuel is now 5,000 hryvnias more expensive than last year. For household consumers, the price will remain at 7.96 hryvnias per cubic meter until April 30, 2026.
In addition, after the end of the full-scale war in Ukraine, utility tariffs may increase. The International Monetary Fund emphasizes the need to raise the “communalka” to market value.
