The unmet need for external financing for 2026-2027 is about 61 billion USD. As Ukrinform reports, this was reported by the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine following the meeting of Minister Serhiy Marchenko with the newly appointed Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Ukraine Neil Crompton.
It is noted that the parties discussed the state of Ukraine’s financial system and budget needs for 2026-2027. The Minister of Finance presented the ambassador with the key parameters of the draft state budget for 2026.
As in previous years, the priority remains expenditures for the security and defense sector – over 61 billion USD (over 60% of the state budget).
“To finance social and humanitarian needs, the government needs international support. The unmet need for external financing for 2026-2027 is about 61 billion USD,” the report says.
During almost four years of full-scale war, Ukraine has received over $160 billion in international financial assistance. In 2025, the volume of external financing will already amount to about $45 billion.
