Due to the advance of the army of the aggressor country Russia, the Metinvest company was forced to completely stop coal mining at the mine in the Pokrovske district of the Donetsk region. The agency reported this today, January 13.
Two unnamed sources told the agency that the Pokrovske mine management had stopped coal mining. One of the interlocutors added that some of the mine’s personnel continue to work on the surface. An evacuation is currently underway there. Presumably, equipment is being removed from the territory of the enterprise.
Later, Metinvest confirmed to Reuters that the Pokrovske mine management had stopped coal mining. The main part of the mine is located north of the village of Udachne. Several more production sites are located near the villages of Kotlyne and Pishchane.
The mine produces coal, from which coke is made. It is used in the work of metallurgical enterprises. According to analysts of the DeepState project, the current front line runs close to these settlements.
