Tax authorities have launched a new wave of letters to online sellers without individual entrepreneurs

The State Tax Service is again sending out warnings to Ukrainians who sell goods online and receive payment by post via Nova Poshta or other delivery services without registering as an individual entrepreneur.

If in May such notifications were received based on data for March, now they are checking transfers for April 2025.

In the letters, tax officials demand to explain the origin of the funds, suspecting systematic entrepreneurial activity without paying taxes. Fines for such a violation can reach UAH 34,000, and in the case of a repeated case or a large amount of income – up to UAH 85,000.

Tax consultant Oleksandr Zarayskyi notes that the deadline for bringing to administrative responsibility for April transactions has probably already passed. However, this will not stop the State Tax Service from drawing up protocols and sending them to court, where they will have to defend their position.

According to experts, many letters do not meet the requirements of the Tax Code, so instead of explanations, a reply can be provided about such non-compliance. This makes it difficult or impossible to impose fines.

Experts warn: such inspections will continue, and soon we should expect “letters” for May and the following months.
