The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine has fined three companies – “Lirans”, “Morshynskie Dzherela” and “Shayanskie Dzherela” – for providing false information about their water.
This was reported by the press service of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine.
The companies distributed false information on product labels, websites or marketplaces, in particular, about the origin of the waters from the Carpathians or from the Morshyn deposit, about whether the products are mineral waters or waters intended for baby food, the method of production, consumer properties and individual characteristics. Information about the allegedly unique origin, beneficial properties and mineral composition of the water has been refuted.
“Within the framework of the consideration of the cases, LLC “Lirans” and LLC “Trading House “Morshynski Dzherela” did not provide evidence to confirm the information about these waters posted in the relevant places of distribution,” the report says.
In particular, the State Non-Profit Organization “Ukrainian Research Institute of Rehabilitation and Balneology of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine” reported that the water “Shayanska Kremnieva” cannot be classified as natural mineral table waters, since the institute did not check the specified properties of this water. In addition, the following information about its properties is distributed regarding this water: “Takes care of the brain*” with the note “*Saturates blood vessels with silicon, makes them more elastic, thereby promoting cognitive recovery.”
According to the results of the consideration of the case, all three producers were found guilty of unfair competition and received fines (the amount was not specified).
