The salary of school doctors remains at a minimum level, despite the fact that there are only thousands of them in the entire education system. This problem was discussed during the Question Hour to the Government with representatives of the Cabinet of Ministers.
The head of the subcommittee on higher education, which is part of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Education, Yulia Grishina, emphasized that the situation needs to be urgently corrected, and the government already has some developments. According to her, during a full-scale war, the work of doctors in schools is especially relevant, but they still receive a minimum salary.
There are not so many such medical workers in our education system – about 20 thousand, and they are financed from local budgets, and according to a different procedure than ordinary doctors. Therefore, the situation with the salaries of this category of medical workers needs to be urgently corrected, – Grishina noted.
According to the official, the Education Committee is currently in dialogue with the Minister of Health, and the Ministry of Education will be involved in further cooperation. The official also noted that school medical workers may even be returned to the health care system. Work is currently underway to resolve the issue of low salaries of school doctors.
