Ukrzaliznytsia expects that the UZ-3000 project will help free up tickets during peak periods

As part of the government initiative “UZ-3000”, Ukrzaliznytsia expects that tickets will be released for passengers during peak transportation periods. This was reported by the chairman of the board of Ukrzaliznytsia Oleksandr Pertsovsky in a comment to Ukrniform in Uzhgorod.

“We have peak sales periods and off-peak ones. As part of the UZ-3000 project, passengers will be able to take tickets for a train that is co-financed by the state within the framework of this program, and travel in the desired direction. Thanks to the “UZ-3000″ initiative, we expect that in this way, seats will be freed up during peak months, and people for whom price is important will be able to take advantage of the opportunity and take a ticket,” he added.

He also added that the government initiative will not apply to the premium segment of transportation, such as SV wagons.

“We’ll see how it works in the winter. The program will be finalized. But we expect that it will be a little easier to get tickets during peak passenger traffic thanks to this initiative,” Pertsovsky added.

He also noted that the UZ-3000 project will operate only on the territory of Ukraine. The initiative will not apply to trains heading abroad.
