Russia continues its terror tactics. This time, the occupiers targeted the grain silos of several enterprises in the Sumy region.
On the night of October 4, Russian “Shakhed” strike drones attacked the Chernechchynsk community in the Okhtyr region. As a result of the strikes, grain warehouses, agricultural machinery, and production facilities of three farms were destroyed and damaged. Local entrepreneurs say that the losses amount to several million hryvnias, writes “Suspilne”.
“Not just one warehouse. All the warehouses were hit. There was a combine harvester, it was smashed. The glass was broken, the tractor was completely smashed, without windows, without doors. The second tractor also has no windows. The grain was damaged. The KZS was smashed. They built it for two years, smashed it. They founded and made a “puppet”, and now they bombed it,” Vyacheslav Sopitko told reporters.
The roof of a neighboring enterprise was destroyed over 300 m2, says its head Serhiy Kolesnyk.
“You could say there is no warehouse. The roof was completely blown away. Grain was stored. 700 tons. One car burned to the ground, one was badly damaged. At 4:30, the “shaheeds” started coming in, the sound was the first explosions. The neighbors called that something had happened to our enterprise. We arrived 10 minutes later and saw everything. Let’s hope that at least some, at least some compensation will be made. It’s worth millions,” says the head of the enterprise, Serhiy Kolesnyk.
In the morning, the Russian military sent two drones to each of his and his neighbors’ grain warehouses, adds the head of another enterprise, Viktor Lebedyuk. He says that property was damaged, but there were no people at the enterprise at the time.
“1,000 tons of grain, sunflower and soybeans, and wheat. plus a JCB telescopic loader and a Deutz-Fahr tractor,” says Viktor Lebedyuk. The estimated losses of this enterprise are UAH 20 million.
As a result of the attack, a fire broke out at the site. In general, agricultural buildings and equipment of three farms were damaged, says the head of the Chernechyn community Roman Bublyk.
Not only grain
Let us recall that on the night of October 3, the Russian army hit a farm in the Novovodolazka community with “Shakheds”. As a result of the strike, about 13 thousand pigs died – 90% of the total number of animals at the farm.
“8 buildings for keeping pigs burned on a total area of 13.6 thousand sq. m. An employee of the enterprise was injured. 32 rescuers and 9 units of SES equipment were involved in eliminating the consequences of the shelling, including pyrotechnicians and a community rescue officer,” the SES of Ukraine reported.
The massive attack took place in two waves with a break of one and a half to two hours. In total, about 20 “Shakheds” hit the farm. There could have been more, but many were shot down by air defense forces. A security guard at the enterprise was injured as a result of the Russian attack.
