From March 1, 2026, the electricity tariff for the population will remain at the level of UAH 4.32 per kWh. The government has decided not to increase the price during the period of regular outages and restoration of the power system after attacks. The decision was recorded in a resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers and announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko. The Cabinet resolution states that the current tariff of UAH 4.32 per kWh will be valid at least until April 30, 2026. Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko emphasized that increasing the price of electricity in conditions where consumers are actually not receiving part of the service due to supply interruptions would be unfair. She also emphasized that the state will compensate for the difference between the market price of electricity and the established tariff within the framework of the PSO mechanism in order to maintain the availability of the service for the population.
Benefits for certain categories
Special conditions continue to apply to some households:
2.64 UAH per kWh for households with electric heating within the limit of 2000 kWh per month;
2.16 UAH per kWh at night for owners of dual-zone meters.
These mechanisms allow individual consumers to significantly reduce costs.
Is a tariff revision possible
The National Bank warns that after the end of the heating season, utility tariffs may be revised. One of the reasons is the need to finance the restoration of the power system after massive attacks. At the same time, the regulator emphasizes that even in the event of an increase, the decision should be gradual and gradual in order to avoid a sharp social burden. Currently, Ukrainians continue to pay for electricity at a fixed price. The government assures that changes to the tariff policy will be adopted taking into account the state of the power system and the solvency of the population.
