From August 1, 2026, Ukrainians will continue to pay for electricity and gas at the current tariffs, while the cost of water supply in many communities will increase significantly. According to relevant agencies, the government has not revised the prices for electricity and gas, so household consumers will continue to pay UAH 4.32 per kWh, and the annual tariff of Naftogaz will remain at UAH 7.96 per cubic meter.
The biggest changes concern cold water. After the transfer of powers from the National Commission for the Regulation of Energy and Utilities of Ukraine to local authorities, a number of cities approved new tariffs, which in some cases increased by two to three times. The highest prices were recorded in Uman – UAH 157.32 per cubic meter, in Borodyanka – UAH 139.34, in Pavlohrad – UAH 113.47. In Vinnytsia, the tariff increased more than three times – from UAH 25.62 to over UAH 81.
In large cities, the situation is different: in Dnipro, a cubic meter of water costs 81.92 UAH, in Odessa, tariffs have not yet been revised, and in Kyiv, the old price is 30.38 UAH. At the same time, the capital’s water utility has submitted for approval a new economically justified tariff of about 89 UAH, which may increase the costs of Kyiv residents almost threefold.
Hot water and heating remain unchanged due to the moratorium on tariff increases during martial law. Therefore, in the 2026–2027 season, Ukrainians will pay for heat at current prices.
Let us remind you that the main reason for the increase in the price of water was the real costs of water utilities – more expensive electricity, fuel, reagents, and the need to repair worn-out networks. In communities with a small number of consumers, these costs are distributed among a smaller population, which leads to a sharp jump in tariffs.
