The Ukrainian government may consider raising police salaries. The timing of the issue is not yet known. This was stated by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko. He noted that for two years in Ukraine, police salaries have not been indexed, and accordingly, they have not been increased.
The minister recalled that employees of the National Police are paid an additional 10 thousand hryvnia. In regions where hostilities are taking place, payments amount to 30 thousand hryvnia. According to Klymenko, the average salary of a police officer in Ukraine is 34−36 thousand hryvnia.
“We will also consider the issue of raising salaries in the government, possibly in the future. But this will be a blanket (undifferentiated approach, — ed.) throughout the country,” the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.
According to him, in Kharkiv and Donetsk regions, police salaries are somewhat higher. Klymenko noted that the issue of increasing salaries may be considered at a government meeting, and this decision will probably apply to the entire territory of Ukraine without a differentiated approach.
In addition, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the procedure for conducting basic military training for students and police officers, as reported by the representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk. This procedure was established in accordance with the provisions of Article 10-1 of the Law of Ukraine “On Military Duty and Military Service”.
