Retirement will be made more difficult for Ukrainians: what changes to expect next year

It will be more difficult for Ukrainians to take a well-deserved rest. This will apply most of all to citizens who have worked unofficially for some time. The Pension Fund of Ukraine told us what requirement will be changed. In 2025, in order to take a well-deserved rest at the age of 60, you must have at least 32 years of insurance experience. Some citizens are already facing a lack of experience. They have to either buy it or continue to work.

Next year, it will become even more difficult to retire, as the requirement for experience for 60-year-olds will increase by 12 months. That is, if the experience is less than 33 years, then you will have to wait for a well-deserved rest.

The conditions for retirement at the age of 63 will also be updated – from 23 to 33 years of experience. At the same time, 65-year-olds must have at least 15 years of experience – the requirement will remain unchanged.

The requirements for length of service will be increased until 2028 inclusive – it will be necessary to have at least 35 years of service to retire at 60 years of age.

“Starting from January 1, 2028, in case of 40 or more calendar years of insurance experience, an old-age pension is assigned regardless of age,” the PFU said.
