In particular, platforms for the transportation of large-tonnage containers will be manufactured for JSC UZ. “TAS Dniprovagonmash” has been announced the winner of the state tender for the supply of freight cars to JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia”. This is reported by the Central Transport Service with reference to the company’s information.
In accordance with the contracted volumes, by the end of the first half of 2025, “TAS Dniprovagonmash” will supply 200 freight cars from its own model range. It is noted that this year’s novelties of the enterprise include a new 40-foot platform car for large-tonnage containers model 13-4155, among the first customers of which “Ukrzaliznytsia” became.
“The wagon is designed with the maximum possible tare weight for this model, which is 20.5 tons, and at the same time the largest possible payload, 73.5 tons. It is these indicators that will guarantee the transportation of maximum cargo volumes by this wagon compared to similar wagons available on the market,” the message says.
The wagon’s construction also provides for the 03-VM gauge, which provides this wagon with the ability to run on the European Union railway network.
“In addition, the versatility of the platform wagon is also ensured by the ability to transport all available container sizes: 10, 20, 30, 40 and 45 feet, as well as tank containers,” the company added.
It is expected that the first gondolas will be delivered in February-April 2025. The gondolas will mainly carry bulk and other weather-resistant cargo, such as dolomite and granite rubble used in construction, as well as metals.
