The government increased spending on the “National Cashback” at the expense of other government programs

In October 2024, Ukrainians accumulated three times more “National Cashback” than in September. The Cabinet of Ministers redistributed state budget expenditures, reducing the amount of funding for some programs of the Ministry of Economy and increasing expenditures for the “National Cashback” program. This was reported by the representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Rada, Taras Melnychuk.

The government reduced development expenditures under the program for the creation of industrial parks by UAH 312.1 million and under the program for compensation for costs for humanitarian demining of agricultural lands by UAH 81.7 million.

In turn, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted a decision to “increase the volume of consumption expenditures under the program “Supporting domestic demand for domestic goods and services” under the general fund in the amount of UAH 81 million 669.74 thousand and under the special fund in the amount of UAH 312 million 109.59 thousand.”

As a reminder, at the end of October, Ukrainians received their first cashback from the state. Some citizens have already spent it. Most often, Ukrainians transferred this money to a mobile account. This is reported by the Ministry of Economy.

As the press service of the department notes, a fifth of Ukrainians who received it at the end of October spent the cashback.

Approximately half of users topped up their mobile phones, 35% paid for utilities, the rest paid for the Internet, transport and food services. Approximately 120 thousand Ukrainians made payments with the National Cashback card. More than 500 thousand still keep funds in their accounts,” the report said.

In October 2024, Ukrainians accumulated three times more “National Cashback” than a month earlier. The total amount of cashback accrued to citizens in October is UAH 125 million.
