Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal reported on the results of the next weekly coordination meeting of the Government, where key issues for the state were discussed. He wrote about this in his Telegram channel.
In particular, among the priorities is preparation for the new heating season. According to Shmyhal, the repair of heating networks in front-line cities is underway. The Ministry of Community and Territories Development and the Ministry of Energy have received the relevant tasks. The situation is being constantly monitored.
Attention was also paid to the needs of the security and defense sector. The Prime Minister noted that up to UAH 20 billion remains in the accounts of the brigades, which should be promptly directed to the purchase of drones, repair of equipment and other needs of the front line. The Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Finance were instructed to ensure the effective use of these resources.
After the high-profile case with charity collections, the Government instructed the Ministry of Social Policy to prepare proposals to strengthen reporting and control over the transparency of such initiatives.
Shmyhal also recalled the adoption of the law on multiple citizenship. The next stage is the development of relevant by-laws, which the Ministry of Unity, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are working on.
As part of the eReconstruction program, a decision is being prepared to increase the amount of compensation for owners of damaged housing that has the status of an architectural monument. The Ministry of Development and the Ministry of Culture have been assigned the task.
The issues of the budget and financial strategy for the next year were discussed separately. Ukraine’s total external financing needs in 2025 are $39.3 billion. More than $20 billion have already been attracted – mostly under the ERA programs, from the EU, the IMF and the World Bank. There are agreements to fully cover this year’s needs. Negotiations with partners on financing the 2026 state budget are also ongoing.
“We continue systematic work on strengthening defense, supporting citizens and the economic stability of the state,” Shmyhal concluded.
