In Ukraine, pensioners can initiate an additional recalculation of their pension if they discover inaccuracies in the accruals or receive new documents that affect the amount of payments. The Pension Fund emphasizes that this right is available to every pensioner, but many citizens do not use it due to lack of awareness.
The grounds for recalculation may be new confirmed periods of insurance experience, updated certificates of earnings, changes in personal data or errors detected in previous calculations. In addition, recalculation is possible in the event of changes in legislation that affect the pension calculation formula.
To initiate the procedure, a pensioner must submit an application to the PFU service center or use the electronic account on the Pension Fund portal. After checking the documents, specialists conduct a new calculation and, if the grounds are confirmed, increase the pension amount. In some cases, pensioners may receive an additional payment for previous months if the under-accrual was long-term.
As a reminder, experts advise you to regularly check your data and not ignore the possibility of recalculation, because even small clarifications in experience or salary certificates can significantly affect the final amount of payments.
