From June 1, 2024 to March 2, 2025, banks received 3,879 applications from businesses for lending to energy infrastructure restoration projects for a total of UAH 81.7 billion and began financing such projects (granted loans and opened limits) for the amount of UAH 14.1 billion.
These are the results of a survey by the National Bank of 20 banks that signed a memorandum of readiness to finance energy restoration.
It is noted that the volume of the gross portfolio of loans for energy needs of legal entities, taking into account repayments as of the beginning of March, is UAH 8.5 billion.
In particular, according to the survey, in February:
194 applications were received from businesses for the amount of UAH 6.7 billion;
70 applications were approved for the amount of UAH 753 million;
94 loans were granted for a total amount of UAH 914 million.
The total generation capacity financed since June under loans granted to businesses is over 549 MW. The largest amounts of funds were allocated for the purchase and installation of gas-fired cogeneration units (219 MW), the construction of solar power plants (162 MW), and the purchase of diesel and gasoline generators (124 MW). Projects are financed in 21 regions of the country.
In addition, banks also lend to the population. During February, citizens were granted 558 loans for energy needs in the amount of UAH 105 million, and in total since June – 6,266 loans in the amount of UAH 836 million. The volume of the gross portfolio of loans to individuals for the above purposes, taking into account repayments, is UAH 712 million.
