“No need to invent numbers”: the Rada made a demand to Zelensky

After pressure from the US to sign the mineral agreement, Ukrainian politicians began to raise questions about how much aid Ukraine actually received and whether the payment for US support was too large. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy tried to explain financial relations with the new administration of the US president at a press conference, but the people’s deputies still had questions.

People’s Deputy of Ukraine Oleksiy Honcharenko noted that there is no need to talk and invent numbers.

“100 billion. Maybe 200 billion. Maybe 180 billion. We need to go out and make a presentation. We can entrust this work to Shmyhal. Shmyhal comes out and says: Here are all the payments, friends. We received this amount in 2022. And this in 2023. And this in 2024. This is the amount of direct grants to the budget. And this is military aid. Here is a table (you can use Excel) of expenses for 2022, and here is another one – expenses for 2023. But for 2024,” advises Goncharenko.

The People’s Deputy is convinced that Musk can also be called upon to check with his department all the expenses of American taxpayers. Even all the expenses of the Ukrainian budget.

“Nothing was stolen. Nothing was spent just like that. All for the sake of victory. It’s simple. We really spent everything for the sake of victory? We didn’t steal money, right? Yes? Mr. Volodymyr Oleksandrovych? Then what is there to be afraid of? There are no problems at all,” the People’s Deputy noted.

At the same time, Goncharenko is convinced that it would be nice to do this with European money as well.

“There is not just one billion there, one billion here. Everything has to come down to every cent there. It cannot be that we don’t know where the money was spent. And this is the beginning of a conversation. And the beginning of transparency. And the beginning of relations with the new administration in the United States,” the politician is confident.
