Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksiy Kuleba stated about the difficult situation with financing road infrastructure in Ukraine in 2026. In total, UAH 12.6 billion is provided for in the state budget for the current year. He announced this at a press conference, an Apostrophe correspondent informs.
This year, the volume of repair work will reach 21.5 million square meters, but there is a lack of funds for this.
“It is important to say that today we are provided with a resource of UAH 12.6 billion, it is included in the budget. The total is catastrophically insufficient. Indeed, as the esteemed Prime Minister said, of course, repair crews have already left, especially on our international roads in order to repair them as soon as possible,” he said.
Kuleba noted the need to apply for additional financial resources. We are talking about repairs of frontline roads.
“And in general, I appeal to all media workers. We need to correct the mistake and talk about roads exclusively, as now, about the element of military logistics, about the element of our assistance to our people, evacuation. And that is why we will apply for additional resources for front-line roads. There it is needed first of all,” the minister emphasized.
According to him, on March 4, a presentation will be held to Prime Minister Yulia Svirydenko of the corresponding plan for each region, priority, with the corresponding influx of resources and needs. Earlier, the head of the government set such a task.
“Therefore, I want to say that over the past 10 days, work has been going on, it is increasing. We started with about 150 brigades coming to us, now there are more than a thousand of them, and we will continue to increase the volume of our direct work on roads,” Kuleba added.
