Ukrainians were offered to pay contributions for their future pension themselves

Ukrainians can pay voluntary insurance contributions to the Pension Fund of Ukraine (PFU) and thus increase their insurance experience. Contributions can be made both for themselves and for other persons. This is reported by the Government Portal.

At the same time, if parents are already pensioners, it is impossible to pay insurance contributions for them. However, it is possible to increase their pension thanks to charitable contributions. To do this, you do not need to submit any documents or visit government agencies – everything can be done online through the PFU portal without authorization.

If the contribution is made for a specific pensioner, 70% of the funds are directed specifically to him, and the remaining 30% – to finance the pensions of other pensioners.

Who can use voluntary contributions

Individual entrepreneurs who pay the minimum social security contribution.

Ukrainians working abroad.

Citizens over 16 years of age (not pensioners), if their data is in the register of insured persons.

How to pay contributions online

Log in to the PFU electronic services portal via KEP, Diya.Pidpys or ID.GOV.UA.
Select the section “Communications with PFU” → “Agreement on voluntary participation”.
Indicate for whom the contribution is made: for yourself (the data will be filled in automatically) or for another person.
Confirm the data and consent to the processing of information.
Click “Sign and pay”.

The amount of the voluntary contribution is determined independently, but to count a full month of insurance experience, the amount must be no less than the minimum insurance contribution – 1760 UAH in 2025.

Ukrainians who concluded agreements on voluntary payment of contributions in 2024 can continue to pay without concluding new agreements – they will be valid until December 31, 2025.
