Maksym Zaremsky, a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada from the “Servant of the People” faction and a member of the budget committee, proposes that the parliament cancel the fee for transporting natural gas for the population. This is stated in bill No. 13095, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
It is proposed to exempt household consumers from paying for natural gas transportation and distribution services.
According to the text, this fee should be canceled for the period of martial law and within a year after its cancellation.
The author explains his initiative by the fact that “in Ukraine, most people survive on minimum wages and even smaller pensions or other social benefits,” while at the same time taxes are being increased.
Zaremsky stressed that in his constituency, people often resent the established fee for transporting and distributing natural gas through networks that were laid at the expense of the owners.
As Ukrainian News Agency reported, the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Municipal Services (NCRES) increased tariffs for natural gas transportation for LLC “GTS Operator of Ukraine” for 2025-2029 by 2-4 times.
