In Kherson, tariffs for centralized water supply and sewage may be significantly revised. If the new prices are approved, from 2027 the cost of one cubic meter of water, including VAT, may increase to almost 99 hryvnias.
This was reported by the Kherson Water Supply Company.
Currently, city residents are subject to tariffs established back in 2022. For water supply, they pay 13.15 hryvnias per cubic meter excluding VAT, and for sewage – 12.43 hryvnias. Together with VAT, the current tariff is 30.74 hryvnias per cubic meter.
The water supply company explains that the current prices no longer cover actual costs. According to the company’s calculations, the cost of water supply in the first half of 2026 reached 92.22 hryvnias per cubic meter, and for sewage – 68.87 hryvnias.
The company proposes to set an economically justified tariff excluding VAT at UAH 40.82 for water supply and UAH 41.65 for sewage. In total, this will amount to UAH 82.47 excluding VAT or almost UAH 99 per cubic meter with VAT.
In this case, a family of three, consuming about seven cubic meters of water per month, will pay approximately UAH 693 instead of the current UAH 215.
The water utility explains the need to revise the tariffs by the increase in the cost of electricity, fuel, materials and labor costs. An additional problem was the sharp reduction in the number of consumers due to the war. According to the company, about 60 thousand people now live in Kherson, which is approximately a fifth of the city’s pre-war population.
Another factor is the significant debt of consumers. As of August 2025, the population’s debt to the water utility exceeded UAH 130 million.
Until August 11, individuals and legal entities can submit their proposals and comments on the draft new tariffs. After their consideration, the company will make a final decision on the cost of services for 2027.
