Ministry of Energy asks the government to allocate 180 million UAH to Ukrainian mines

The Ministry of Energy appealed to the Government with a request to allocate 180 million hryvnias of state support for the capital construction of mines during 2014, the official document of the Trade Union of Coal Workers says. “The Law of Ukraine On Amending the Law on the State Budget for 2014, the Ministry of Energy and Coal has canceled capital expenditures under the budget program. State support for the construction of coal and peat mining enterprises, technical re-equipment of these enterprises. Failure to resolve the issue of allocating funds for these purposes will lead to the actual cessation of work at capital construction facilities, the appearance of additional costs for their maintenance with negative socio-economic consequences, ”the appeal of UNN cites.

The minimum need for state support funds for capital construction in 2014 is 180 million hryvnias. They are necessary to maintain the technical potential of contracting mining enterprises subordinate to the Ministry of Energy and Coal, as well as to pay wages and maintain construction projects.

State support is planned to be sent to ten construction projects.

It is expected that the implementation of technical solutions for the construction of coal mining enterprises in full will allow the commissioning of 2.6 million tons of production capacity. Including: new construction – 1.2 million tons of coal, reconstruction with an increase in production – 340 thousand tons, technical re-equipment with an increase in production – 1.3 million. In addition, it will support the production of 3.7 million tons of production capacity.

The day before, the head of the Independent Trade Union of Miners of Ukraine, Mikhail Volynets, reported that Ukrainian miners would threaten an uprising if the Donbass moved to Russia, since in this case 100 thousand miners could be left without work.
