The banking network in Ukraine increased by 40 branches in the fourth quarter of 2023. Growth was recorded for the first time since the banking crisis of 2014-2015, according to the report of the National Bank.
Growth was recorded in all groups of banks, private banks opened the most branches. The network grew most noticeably in the Kyiv and Ivano-Frankivsk regions.
The largest networks are in Oschadbank (1,182) and PrivatBank (1,132). The rest of the banks are far behind. For example, the third-ranked Raiffeisen Bank has only 332 branches.
In general, the banking network decreased by 198 branches over the course of a year, more than a quarter of them in liquidated banks.
For the first time since the start of the full-scale invasion, banks have provided reporting on the number of full-time employees. It decreased in all groups of banks.
